Riddim Band's creation was inspired by traditional Jamaican roots reggae music. Lead singer SteFari started the group to share a message that has been an integral part of his upbringing. Having been raised on St. John in the Virgin Islands, he has been inspired by the music that emulates from the Island of Jamaica, W.I. 

Riddim Band strives to inspire audiences of all backgrounds to embrace the spiritual power of true conscious reggae.

The term "riddim" is the Jamaican Patois pronunciation of the English word "rhythm". The derived genre originally stemmed from dub, reggae, and dancehall.
